Thank You Teachers

Guess who got to spend some time in the sewing room?!

Oh yes…..i did and it was wonderful!

I actually had to sew because it was teachers appreciation  yesterday at Dania’s school and she has really two adorable teachers. They are teacher Fyda and the one whom she is very attached to Teacher Wendy.

So i decided to make them 2 zippered pouches  with the fabric but different shapes and ruffling.

As you can see both are quite similar but with minor differences.

First is in the shapes  the one on the left has a gusset (boxed corners) and the other one doesnt – which is why it is lying flat.

The fabrics are from my stash which was shipped all the way from Oman :) Love this print in particular very bold colours which i am very into at the moment. I didnt follow a tutorial for this particular pouch so i just went with the flow especially when it came to the embellishment 😉

A friend of mine commented on my FB page that ladies who teach my kids are lucky as i always make them gifts and she is right i do love making them things, click here and here to find out what i made for them last year.

I wont be selling these pouches in my shop because in the world of handmade we each have our creative signature and  respect them. Ruffles isnt mine its belongs to Maggie and her ruffles are way cuter than mine check  her out at Gussy Sews.

I lined them both with orange fabric so so pretty!

This is how i packaged them

I am pleased to say that both teachers loved their pouches and loved the bold colours i choose, but most of all the loved that it was handmade my me and it will always remind me of Dania :)

Thanks for stopping by my lovelies i have some more pouches to get done this time for Hadeel’s teachers :)

I’ll be linking to these parties
