Something for your kitchen: Dishtowel makeovers

Most women spend most, if not all their time in the kitchen.

I personally feel the kitchen is the heart of the home, its where everything is happening, the meals, the planning, the cooking and most exciting of all the eating :)

Dish towels are in very kitchen, they are practical and who said they cant be pretty?

Here are what a couple of ladies did with theirs

Krystal at Sassy Sanctuary shares her tutorial on how to make this

How about this triple border on your dish towel by Sew 4 Home ?

When i see projects like this pleated kitchen towel from ducks in a row

i thank god that i know how to sew! :)

Dont you hate it when dish towels always seem to never stay put?!

Well now they will check out this tutorial from Pin. Sew. Press with her stay put kitchen towel

I love things that are simple and cute which is why this dish towel from Sutton Grace caught my eye

I hope these tutorials inspired you to give your dishtowels a make over :)

I love all these dishtowel makeovers. So nice to have them all in one spot like this to refer back to!

But I have to say, this line is buggin me: “Most women spend most, if not all their time in the kitchen.”

I don’t think that’s true. I love my kitchen, I love to cook, but the idea that I somehow belong in there because I’m a woman just….ick….although I don’t think that’s what you really meant. It was just the implication that got to me.
    I am such a feminist!

That sentence didnt mean that women BELONG in the kitchen, i personally cook all meals for my family and it sometimes feel that apart from my sewing room i tend to spend the whole day there! So i assumed that most women feel the same way.
Never did i intend to for it to say that that is where women belong, kind of shocked you got that impression!
Thank you for bringing it up though so glad you like the tutorials :)

yes Mayya…i agree women belongs to Kitchen, unless if we take initiate to come out of it finishing our work. i have seen my mom, aunts all hanging around in the kitchen most of the day….doing something or other…i always wonder..why can’t they finish work and come out of the kitchen…lol…I love to cook for the family and for the guest…but i love to be in my sewing room than in my kitchen…lol…

  5. Love your idea of using various dishtowels. They are very small thing in kitchen but still plays an important role in complete kitchen. Nice post.
