Sometimes i wish…

Dont you wish sometimes that you were somewhere else? living in another country maybe?

Please dont get me wrong i LOVE, love my country Oman and when i am not living here i miss it terribly, however i must admit there are time that i just wish i was living abroad………. just for a little while :)

Here are my reasons why? (they might be selfish reasons but they are MY reasons consider this  a little rant )

- To be able to attend this course in making bags by Nicole Mallalieu Design of this course in Designer Stitch which is in Australia.

- How wonderful would it be to find all a shop that would stock all the sewing supplies i need?!

- I would love to attend the Quilt Market and meet all these wonderful fabric designers.

Here are pictures of Paula Prass’s booth

More pictures found at her blog

Here are more pictures of the Quilt Market i found on Flickr

- I would love to buy beautiful fabric from etsy and not pay so much for shipping and have to wait ONE MONTH for them to arrive!

Here are some Heather Bailey farbic which arrived yesterday (it took ONE WHOLE MONTH to arrive)

Heather Bailey

i ordered them via So Fun Fabrics she is currently having and end of year sale so  make sure to check her out!

But the MAIN reason i would like to live somewhere is to be able to link PAYPAL to my bank account so i can launch my shop online! I have just found that none of the GCC countries are allowed to link up to PAYPAL!!! So there goes my hope!

I know that life being what it is there are always obstacles and we just have to find ways around it, however this particular one is a HARD one and its going to take time to get over, but i do believe if there is a will there is a way and i go by my favorite quote “A winner is a dreamer who never quits” – unknown

I have been sewing YAY and hope to post pictures of some organisers that i am currently working on as i have been getting quite a lot of emails requesting them. I love getting emails from you so keep them coming :)

Have a great day and thank you for your support

P.S did you notice all my reaons had something to do with Sewing? LOL just goes to show that i am TOTALLY addicted to it!

Mayya, I feel your pain and really admire your strong passion for the craft. Those HB’s are gorgeous, and yes one month is a long time, but it’s worth the wait ya? Over here parcels from the US would reach me in 10 days tops and I still think it’s too long. Hang in there, keep on creating and inspiring us! :)

You don’t have to live in the same country as your Paypal account. You can open a bank account that has Internet banking (and they usually all do) next time you go outside of the GCC, then do all the Paypalling that way.

    hey Mayya!

That fabric is gorgeous!!! You better show us what you make with it. :)

Yes, Australia is pretty good I will have to say, but have you tried looking at the fat quarter shop online? Or is it the paypal issue? I drool over what they have and their prices are half that of what I pay here in Australia.

    Good luck with it all
    ;o)

This fabric seems to be a favorite and you are all excited about what i am going to make with it! I better make a decision soon then

I can use paypal to buy stuff but it wont allow people to buy stuff from me (ie deposit money into my account)
I know that i will come up with a solution its just going to take longer than i thought, and i HATE waiting!

Hi there, i totally understand what you were saying, at last someone like me spook about this matter, actually I am your next door sister from UAE, and i started craft sewing things since last year, and i realized that its rare to have such activities here in the GCC, but i fount out some privet maybe small tuitions in Dubai, some shops and markets for quilts, crafts and sewing i know its far for me but at least its inside the country. Also about the paybal thing, i read that some GCC countries started this method with curtain Banks even in Oman you can check and ask the known and famous ones. Nice to see such a sister starting this addiction, please pass by my blog and i honered my blog by adding your link, cache yah later
